Launching Large: Milestones for Planting a Healthy Church

Many church plants are driven by calendar. Regardless of where they may be on the pre-launch developmental process they have plans to go public either around Easter, shortly after Labor Day, or right after the New Year. When appropriate milestones have been achieved these dates can provide for a significant launch. However, when significant milestones are not achieved often the launch is premature and can lead to a premature death. This pre-conference workshop will identity critical milestones and lay a ground work for achieving those milestones that must be achieved prior to launching large. If you have not launched yet, then this pre-conference workshop is for you.

David Putman is one of the founders of and serves as the one of the Pastors of Mountain Lake Church.  He is the co-author of Breaking the Missional Code with Ed Stetzer and the author of Breaking the Discipleship Codeschedule for spring 2007 release.

Connecting People Quickly: Moving Disconnected People into a Spiritual Process

It is not unusual to see a church launch large only to grow small over the next few months. When this happens without sustaining momentum this can result in stalling out as a young church plant. Learning how to connect people quickly by qualifying the unqualified and developing simple steps, and processes can result in setting up your church for success from day one. Attention will be given to small group, volunteerism, spiritual decisions, newcomer’s orientation and other processes that are critical to a new church plant.

John Shepherd serves as the Associate Pastor of Mountain Lake Church, Campus Pastor of the Mountain Lake Church West Forsyth Campus and is responsible for overseeing the connection process.  He also serves as “vision architect” at Auxano.

Louie Lovoy is one of the Pastors at Mountain Lake Church. Louie has served as Guest Services Pastor and has recently become responsible for our groups.

Children’s Ministry from the Ground Up

Launching a church is not simply about gathering a crowd, but it is about ministry for the entire family. Imagine what the impact you could have in your community and families if you had a process and a place to invest in their spiritual development.  This workshop is designed to assist you in the nuts and bolts of setting up a ministry from scratch and developing a process for the development of children from birth through eighteen.

Chad Ward is one of the Founding Pastors of Mountain Lake Church where he currently serves as Family Pastor.

Autumn Ward is a founding member of Mountain Lake Church and serves as a writer for My First Look preschool curriculum with the Rethink Group.
