Hey guys thanks for stopping by. Just a little about me. I am a big time family man. I have two awesome kids. My son serves with the 82nd Airborne and is deployed right now in Afghanistan. Did I mention he got married this summer. I’m really proud of him, but I’m really tired of war. I’m praying for peace on earth. My daughter and I are just alike only she’s a good looking version. My wife really is the best person I’ve ever met. I love hanging out with my friends. I would rather you drop by than make plans. I’m somewhat of an introvert. My favorite moments are hanging out on my deck thinking about life. My friends think I’m weird because I like to write more than watch football. I love riding my motorcycle in the North Georgia Mountains. I have three in my garage; a 2002 Harley Deuce, a 2006 Honda VTX 1300, and a Suzuki SV 1000. They are all black and I can be in the mountains within 30 minutes. I am a pastor at Mountain Lake Church in Cumming, GA (northern Atlanta). I have a church planting organization called churchplanters.com where we coach church planters. I’ve been a church planter all of my ministry. I am passionate about putting wells in Africa and Bibles in Iran. God is up to so much I don’t know what to do with myself most days. My mission is to rediscover the simplicity of Jesus and his ways. Most of my life and writings reflect this. My new book just hit the stands Detox…for the overly religious. I’m not sure what I’m writing next, but I have several thoughts.
What I do
Churchplanters.com – I spend about 50% of my time leading churchplanters.com. An organization that I co-founded five years ago.
Write and Speak – I have written three books over the last five years with a couple of new ones in the works. I try to spend at least three mornings a week working on my writing. One of the things I feel most passionate about is helping churches rediscover the simplicity of Jesus and his ways. A theme throughout all of my books. I do this by leading workshops on my writings and preaching.
Coaching and Consulting – At any given time I am investing in a formal coaching and consulting relationship with young pastors. I am most interested in a relationship with key leaders who are committed to greater impact. There are many young pastors who have experience rapid growth, but do not have the resources to hire the kind of executive staff to go to the next level. Vision always out pace resources and I help close the gap and set churches up for years of productive ministry.
